HP Envy 5660 e printer
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

I have been using my Envy 5660 e printer for several years without any problems.

Recently, I was able to scan several pages. No problems!

Today, it is not allowing me to scan, saying no scanning 'program is installed.

For me to communicate with this printer, I have to access the WIFI code of the printer.

For me to utilize the web pages and my email, I have to change to the WIFI code

of my computer.

Thus... no access to the Web by using the WIFI code of the printer.

DUH???

May I know which App are you using for Scanning?

Are you able to make Photocopies and print?

Please ensure your Mac and Printer have the latest updates

Printer Firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Mac update: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2015

I didn't quite follow your last statement. Are you connected Wirelessly via your WiFi Router?

Please perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by touching the wireless icon on the printer display or by printing a Network Configuration Page

This will let us know if the Printer and Mac are communicating

Also check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.

Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.

Keep me posted
