When both the ink alert and resume buttons are blinking on your HP DeskJet 2331, it usually indicates a problem with the printer that requires attention.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the paper tray and the cartridge access door. Remove any jammed paper you find, making sure no bits are left inside the printer.
Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are seated correctly. If you have low ink levels, replace the cartridges with new ones.
Clean the Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the ink cartridges and clean the metal contacts on both the cartridges and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Reset the Printer:
- Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear error messages.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If possible, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer that might address this issue.
Printer Self-Test:
- Print a self-test page or a diagnostic page to see if the printer is functioning properly. This can sometimes help in identifying specific issues.
