@ttorres66, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Non-HP Chip Detected on HP Printers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The "Non-HP Chip Detected" error on your HP 8025 printer indicates that the printer firmware has blocked cartridges containing a non-HP chip. This is because your printer is designed to work only with genuine HP cartridges.

Even if you have turned off the feature that restricts non-HP cartridges, some HP printers are enabled with dynamic security. This means cartridges using a non-HP chip may not work, and those that work today may not work in the future. Dynamic security is used to protect the quality and reliability of HP products and ensure that your printer operates with optimal performance.

Solutions:

Use Genuine HP Cartridges: HP recommends using genuine HP cartridges for the best print quality and reliability. Replace the cartridges with those from HP to avoid any issues.

Check Firmware Updates: Sometimes, a firmware update can inadvertently turn on or override previous settings related to cartridge recognition. Ensure your printer is updated to the latest firmware and check settings again.

Reinstallation and Reset: Try reinstalling the cartridge and perform a reset. Turn off the printer, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
