@c817k, Welcome to HP Support Community!
This could be an issue with the installed drivers-
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer driver issues.
For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/printscandoctor
Try adding a TCP/IP port.
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
- Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
- Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
- Try printing.
If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer and try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Still not working. Below is how it looks in HP app. When going through the install procedure (after deleting the driver and root level) it hangs up when "installing network". Not sure if it matters but I also have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 that is active. Have for quite sometime but seems like this all started when I tried updating 8210 driver which had not previously done with the 8610 connected

Yes, am using HP Smart App. Both printers show up on it. It shows the 8210 as "ready" but when I click on it I get the message " selected printer is detected but not completely installed on your Windows computer".
Also, the HP Smart App scan for 8610 has stopped working. Printer scanner scans fine to a removable usb drive.

Uninstalled/reinstalled HP Smart App. Resolved scanner issue with 8610. No progress with 8210.
Seems like it may be more efficient troubleshooting for tech support to log into my computer to determine where installation is getting hung up.
8210 according to HP Smart App:
Status: Ready
Installation Status: Not installed
Connection Status: Active
Wireless Status: Connected
When prompted within app to install driver software I do so which then results in "There was a problem during installation. To manually install:" And around and around we go......
Would appreciate a resolution to this problem. Thanks

Can you try using the full-featured software instead of the HP Smart App?
Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer and try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

This is the link to download the full-featured software https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8210-printer-series/7902063.
Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers option with file size 77.8MB and install the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
