Hp 99.07.22 Firmware error

Has anybody had this error when upgrading the firmware. I wiped the hard drive, done a cold reset, upgraded the firmware and still getting this error.

 I started with the earliest firmware and continued to the latest and I'm still getting the same error. 

 I can't find any information for this error for the HP E 87650 .

 No matter which firmware I used I continue to get the same Error.

please let me know if you have a solution for this error unit is down until the firmware upgrade issue is fixed.

Have you run a disk test from the service menu and did it disk passed? Maybe you have failed disk drive.

Turns out that the formatter had a fax module attached to it, so I decided to remove it and perform the firmware upgrade again. That turned out to be the fix.  For some reason, the firmware upgrade won't work with the module attached.  I reattached the module to it after the upgrade and the issue returned so I now have to figure out why this only firmware option does not like this module.  another mystery to solve. ? any ideas

That's cool. Don't know why it won't work but will remember this fix for future.

I had couple of experiences on 99.07.22 and usually Fax Modem has an issue during firmware download.

You may try:

1. turn off the device

2. remove fax card from the device

3. turn on the device and see the device becomes ready

If it works, you can try to install another fax modem, and it usually fixed in my case

I had the same error. Removed the fax and the error went away. Replaced the fax module and it worked fine after that.
