Hi @Stephanie1988 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to do factory reset your HP DeskJet 2742e All-in-One Printer, follow these steps:

Turn On the Printer: Make sure the printer is turned on. If it is off, press the power button to turn it on.

Access the Settings Menu:

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Settings icon (it might look like a gear or wrench) or the Wireless button to access the menu.

Navigate to the Reset Option:

  • Use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu options.
  • Look for an option related to "Factory Reset" or "Restore Defaults".

Select and Confirm:

  • Select the Factory Reset option.
  • Confirm the reset by selecting Yes or OK when prompted.

Wait for the Printer to Reset:

  • The printer will restart and perform the factory reset. This may take a few minutes.

Reconfigure Your Printer:

  • After the reset is complete, you’ll need to set up your printer again, including reconnecting to your WiFi network and reinstalling any necessary software.
