I can print from phone no problem. Uninstalled the printer in an attempt to sort it, now won't let me reinstall. Gets so far then comes up with a 'failed to install message' . When I click on details its an installation error. error code 1627
Please help, I've spent an age trying to sort this and keep hitting a brick wall. Its the worst printer I've ever owned.

Hi @Kinradekin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble installing the drivers for your HP Deskjet 3700 printer. Driver installation issues can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can try to resolve the problem. Please follow these troubleshooting steps.
- Compatibility check: Ensure that the drivers you are trying to install are compatible with your operating system. Check if you are installing the correct version of drivers (32-bit or 64-bit) that matches your OS.
- Uninstall previous drivers: If you've attempted to install the drivers before, make sure to uninstall any previously installed drivers for the HP Deskjet 3700. To do this, go to "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features" (or "Add or Remove Programs") and uninstall any HP printer software related to the Deskjet 3700.
- Disconnect the printer: Temporarily disconnect the printer from your computer during the installation process.
- Download from official source: Ensure you are downloading the drivers from the official HP website or using the installation CD that came with the printer. Third-party driver sources may not be reliable and might contain malware.
- Run as Administrator: Right-click on the driver installer file and select "Run as Administrator" to ensure that the installation has the necessary permissions.
- Disable antivirus: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with driver installations. Temporarily disable your antivirus software before running the driver installer.
- Windows Update: Check for Windows updates and install any pending updates for your operating system. Sometimes, Windows updates include necessary drivers.
- Use HP Printer Install Wizard: HP provides a Printer Install Wizard tool that can help you install the correct drivers for your printer. Download it from the official HP website and follow the instructions.
- HP Support Assistant: If you have HP Support Assistant installed on your computer, you can use it to automatically find and install the appropriate drivers for your printer.
- Check for system issues: If you are experiencing other problems on your computer, such as corrupted system files, it might affect the driver installation process. Run a system scan for any issues using the built-in Windows system file checker (sfc /scannow).
- Try on another computer: If possible, try installing the drivers on a different computer to determine if the issue is specific to your computer or the printer itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
