Hello,
I have an issue with my printer HP Envy 5540 Series.
When the printer is connected via usb to the laptop, it works perfectly, but when its connected wireless it only prints black and white,
I have tried this on both of my windows 10 64bit laptops, i tried unistalling drivers, CMD stuff, a lot of solutions that are listed online and nothing is helping,
what i have noticed is when the printer is connected to the laptop, i need to select the printer HP ENVY 5540 Series when printing, but when its wireless i need to select printer HP674C51 (Hp Envy 5540 Series) when printing,
if anyone has any sugestions please let me know

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
As you have noticed 'HP ENVY 5540 Series' printer needs to be selected if you are printing using USB and HP674C51 (Hp Envy 5540 Series) when printing via wireless.
There could be some issue with the settings on the driver installed for printing on wireless.
Let's try these steps.
Step 1: Check the Printer Settings of HP674C51 (Hp Envy 5540 Series)
-
In the program you are trying to print from, click File, then click Print.
The Print window opens.
-
Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on the software program you are using, the button might be titled Printer Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
-
Check the Printer Features section of the Advanced Properties menu for the Print in Grayscale setting.
-
If you are trying to print in color, make sure the Print in Grayscale setting from the drop-down menu is Off.
-
If you are trying to print with black ink only, select High-Quality Grayscale to fix streaking in black areas.
-
-
Click OK to apply the settings, then click Print.
-
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Remove and add the print driver for the Wireless - HP674C51 (Hp Envy 5540 Series)
- Obtain the IP address of your printer by touching the
icon the printer screen.
- On your PC, Go to 'Control Panel'> 'Hardware and Sound' > 'Devices and Printers'
- Right click on the printer and select 'Remove Device'
- Click on add a printer
- Select 'The printer that I want isn't listed'
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.
- Enter the IP address of the printer(ex: 192.168.1.3) in the Hostname or IP Address field
- Select your printer model from the menu.
- Click 'Next'
- Follow the On-Screen instructions and complete the installation.
- Try to print and check.
