My laptop is not able to detect my printer. I have HP Deskjet InkAdvantage 2020hc Printer. I had to print something on the printer using my HP Laptop. I was going to do the setup but it was not able to detect my printer. I tried it on my Lenovo Laptop but it worked in the Lenovo Laptop. Please Help!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is not getting detected on your computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall and check whether the issue is resolved.
Here is how it is done.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the PC
14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.
15.) Connect the USB cable ONLY when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from this Link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe
Run PSDR
Once the PSDR detects the Printer, it will show up the IP address and Software Status.
Select the correct Printer and click on Next.
PSDR will check if the Printer is on the Network and communication between the PC and the Printer. Once the connection check is done, click on Fix Printing
Once PSDR goes through all checks and automatic fixes, click on Print a test page.
Regardless if PSDR printed the test page or not, click on “NO PRINT”
PSDR will then notify you that there is an update available, click on continue, and PSDR will apply the patch and ask for a reboot.
Post restart the PSDR will run automatically to check for more issue. If no issue found close PSDR.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

First of all, I Mentioned earlier that I have a Normal USB Printer.
And I tried the steps you mentioned and this was the result :-
- First it did not list my printer.
- When i clicked "My printer is not listed" It told me to turn off and on the printer and click Retry.
- After that i just kept my laptop for scan but it is stuck from half an hour
So, HP Print and Scan Doctor did Not work for me.

I recommend you create a new user account on the computer following the steps in the below article and then install the printer on the new user account and check if it works in the new user account.
