Hp Laserjet M110WE - ridiculous requirement to always be connected to internet

We have found a ridiculous issue with the Laserjet M110WE in that even though we want to use it using USB on a standalone system without internet, the driver forces you to be connected to the internet.

This seems to be a way that HP are now 'forcing' users to commit to their HP+ instant ink program. 

I think HP should develop a new driver for this printer that does not require it to be constantly connected to the internet for it to work, we do not want to use instant ink and do not have this connected to the internet.

Why did you decide to buy an HP+?

You can choose M110W that can work without a connection to the internet.
