Customer has several of the m507 Ent LaserJet's, they are all experiencing repeated issues using USB connection, slow printing and HP Smart cannot find the printer, however Windows 11 can find and install the printer, wondering if the latest Firmware could resolve these issues, and since these are enterprise printers it looks like I can only do the update using a thumb drive, since the Smart App is acting not so smart and says its offline, when windows says its online, other times the USB cannot even detect them until the printers is turned off and on.

I would not even recommend using the smart app with these. Install them using the Smart UPD driver. Firmware can be upgraded from thumbdrive or the embedded web server if they are network connected. I am willing to bet that currently the printer driver is using a Microsoft IPP driver. Which hampers printer operation and performance.

Unfortunately they cannot use tcpip, they prefer for these be for each user, there is a network connected m537 color laser used by everyone, but they all want dedicated printers connected direct to computer using USB, there are at least 5 of these on site, btw the UPD is asking for Traditional, Dynamic or Plug and Play, why so many choices?
Should the latest firmware be installed or done in increments?
Looks like I will be going on site tomorrow to handle this, I will just down everything I need to a thumb.

That will be the discrete (model specific) driver not the universal driver. It should work fine but if you continue to have problems you might want to try the SmartUPD driver, they make a USB dedicated version. On the driver page it is under the heading "managed drivers"
In terms of firmware, based on the age of the machine I would just install the latest available firmware.
