HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125a
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi, I am trying to print from an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M-125a which is connected to a MacBook Air via a USB cable. The software has been downloaded and the print job window is always showing as if it is in the process of printing the print job given but no printing is issued and the print job is seen as done. Can you please tell me what's wrong why the print outs are not coming out? I already tried updating the disk utilities and did not work

Hi,

Assuming you have Big Sur (11.X) indeed, please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

If you may have Monterey (12.X), please install below driver:

https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/macOS12/hp...

Following the installation, be sure to allow any prompt to install the driver, also check under System Preferences > Security & Privacy if you may see any Allow button there, within the General tab.

Following the installation go to Printers & Scanners and add the printer, be sure to select your printer model within the Use drop-down menu and check for any difference.
