I am trying to reset my HP Envy 6055e printer to its factory settings. But every time I try to, it tells me “it’s lost connection”. I am trying to reset it to sell it but am unable to. Anyone have any suggestions before I just throw it away?

@Akamaye23, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're looking to reset your HP Envy 6055e printer to its factory settings, here's a general guide you can follow:

Reconnect Your Printer:

  • Make sure that your printer is properly connected to a power source and your network.
  • If you are using a wireless connection, ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Factory Reset Through the Printer Settings:

  • Go to the control panel on your HP printer.
  • Use the menu to navigate to the "Setup" or "Settings" option.
  • From there, look for "Printer Maintenance" or something similar.
  • You should find an option called "Restore Factory Defaults" or "Reset All Settings."
  • Select this option, and confirm any prompts to reset the printer.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date, as outdated firmware can sometimes cause connection issues. Visit the HP support site to download any available updates.

Use HP App:

  • If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try using the HP app on your smartphone or computer. This app sometimes has more capabilities for managing settings on HP devices.
  • Open the HP app and add your printer if it’s not already listed.
  • Look for maintenance or printer setup options to reset the printer.

Also, you may refer to this guide: Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
