Hi @ANIBAL07

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for confirming the details. Since the HP Smart Tank 520 is not being detected over USB despite testing with multiple computers, cables, and ports, let’s go through the recommended steps to ensure the connection is established correctly:

Check Printer USB Port and Cable Compatibility

  • Ensure you are using a high‑speed USB 2.0 cable that is less than 3 meters in length.
  • Connect the cable directly to the computer’s USB port (avoid hubs or docking stations).

Verify Printer Status

  • Confirm the printer is powered on and in Ready mode.
  • If the control panel shows any blinking lights or error codes, resolve those first using the HP App.

Install HP App and Drivers

Windows Device Manager Check

  • On your computer, open Device Manager.
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers and check if “HP Smart Tank 520” or “Unknown Device” appears when the printer is connected.
  • If listed as “Unknown Device,” right‑click and select Uninstall device, then reconnect the printer to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.

HP App Diagnose & Fix

  • Open the HP App, go to Printers, select your device, and run Diagnose & Fix.
  • This will automatically check for driver issues and repair the USB connection if needed.

Test Printing

  • Once the printer is detected, try printing a test page from the HP App or Windows Printer Settings.

Please follow these steps carefully and let me know the exact point where the detection fails. This will help us narrow down whether the issue is with the driver installation or the hardware connection.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
