Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hp Smart app is not able to find my printer 

 

My printer is Ink Tank 310 it connects by a USB which came with the printer

 

When i open Hp Easy Start it finds my printer and gathers device info and the tells me to download HP Smart which is not able to find my printer while at the same time Hp Easy Start is able to

I have tried all the things such as using different slot and restarting etc etc but nothing works 

 

Something which is also confusing me is that this printer works completely fine with my brothers laptop which is a Windows

( mine is mac OS 10.13) without any problem with the same USB cord so i seriously don't know what is the problem here

Hi,

The HP Smart app does not support your printer model and therefore cannot find it.

 

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

 

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

I'm having the same issue. When I follow the instructions listed and 'Skip to Software Download' The page it takes me to does not list either of my printers, photosmart c2580 and laser Jet Pro MFP M182nw
