Goodmorning I have a HP Photosmart C4680 and since yesterda my HP Support Center stopped working properly. It starts normally with no error indication but all the available buttons do not work and  the printer name and function aren't accessible.

Already tried twice a complete uninstall/restart/reinstall of HP software and drivers.  Also tryed restoring the pc to a previous configuration but problem is unsolved.

the printer prints through print command and works from  printer panel but the scan menu is different from the one I had before and  scan to pdf isn't available anymore.

Any idea on how to solve it /what to check?

thanks

@Java75,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

Let's try uninstalling the printer and re-installing the printer driver at the root level. This may fix the issue.

Please follow these steps:

1.)In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and open 'Programs' or 'Programs and features' and select 'Uninstall a Program'.

2.) Select your HP Printer.

3.) Select Uninstall.

4.) In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and look for 'View devices and printers'option under 'Hardware and Sound'.

5.) In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'.

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab.

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

10.) Select Ok.

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.

12.) Close Devices and Printers.

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

16.) Download the printer driver and install it from this link.

17.) Launch the solution center and check if it works.

Let me know if it works.

Thank you Atharva_GP,

I followed your instructions but the problem is still the same. This is what it looks like when I run the  Solution Support Center.

Any other suggestion?

@Java75,

Let us try running the HP Solution center in compatibility mode and check if it works.

Below are the steps to run the program in compatibility mode:

  • Right click on the HP Solution center's shortcut(the .exe file).
  • Click on Properties.
  • Click on the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the Run this program in compatibility mode box.
  • Check the Run this program as an administrator box
  • click OK and Apply.
  • Restart PC.
  • Try launching the Solution Centre again and check if it works.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers!
