@Perrypixie, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Laser MFP 137 Initialization and Warming Up Process!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When the HP Laser MFP 137 printer starts up, it goes through a series of processes from system initialization to warming up. The tone you hear in between these steps is a normal part of the printer's start-up sequence.

Initialization and Warming Up Steps:

  1. System Initializing: The printer begins to initialize its internal systems. This involves checking the hardware components, verifying firmware, and preparing for operation.
  2. Warming Up: After initialization, the printer moves to the warming-up phase, where it prepares the print engine and other components for printing tasks.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you continue to experience issues with the printer not progressing past the "warming up" stage, you can try the following steps:

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Firmware Update:

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer model. Updating the firmware can resolve various issues related to the printer's startup and operation.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams in the input tray, fuser area, toner area, or ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
