Hp+ printer as regular printer

I want to buy an hp+ printer. But I want to use it like a regular printer. By regular printer I mean without instant ink. I just want to change toner when there is no ink. I dont want to subscribe to instant ink at all.

Is it possible to use these hp+ printers like that? And in this case this 6 months initial instant ink will be valid for me as well? How will hp ensure that this initial toner will expire in 6 months as I only use 5 to 10 prints a month.

Instant ink can be cancelled after 6 months, it's not mandatory for an HP+ printer.
