Hi @Barnaby5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Meanwhile, you can try these steps:

I understand your HP printer is showing an error when trying to register it with your HP account (Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0422). Let’s go through some steps to fix this.

Check Existing HP Account

This error means the printer is already linked to another HP account.

If you’ve used a different HP account earlier, try signing in with that account in the HP Smart app.

Remove and Re-Add the Printer

Open the HP Smart app → click on your printer → select Remove Printer.

Restart the HP Smart app and try adding the printer again using your current HP account.

Reset Printer’s Network Settings

On your printer’s control panel, reset the network settings (this option is usually under Wireless Settings > Restore Network Defaults).

Reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi and then try registering it again in HP Smart.

Unlink from Previous Account (if applicable)

If the printer was set up under someone else’s HP account, you’ll need to sign in to that account to remove it.

If you don’t have access to that account, you’ll need to contact HP Support and provide them with the error code shown on screen.

Check for HP Smart App Updates

Make sure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version on your PC or mobile device.

Sometimes older versions of the app may not sync properly with HP servers.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
