Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I have a app called hp product research that is draining my battery and using significant cpu to the point that it took me an hour to check my email yesterday. It won't force quit and I can't find it anywhere to delete it. I have seen a solution that requires uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software but is there another solution ?? Aggghh please help.

A warm welcome to HP Community!

Removing the HP Product Improvement Study folder from the Library folder may resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:

1.) Open Finder then click Go and Click Home.

2.) Click View then Click Show View Options. Check the box Show Library Folder.

The change is instantaneous and the Library folder will immediately becomes visible.

3.) Open Library and Open Application Support,

4.) Open HP folder and move Product Improvement Study folder to Trash and clear the Trash.

5.) Power off and power on Mac.

Let me know how it goes!
