I’m trying to set up my HP Smart Tank 6001. I plug in and the buttons all just blink. The wireless button does not come on at all . I have tried turning off and on. I have tried turning router off and on . No luck. Can anyone help?

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 6001 is experiencing some connectivity issues, particularly with the wireless button not turning on. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

 

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • After waiting for about 30 seconds, plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridges and see if the printer starts up properly​.

Check Your Power Source:

  • Make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector, as this can sometimes cause power issues.

Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode:

  • If the printer does not automatically enter Wi-Fi setup mode when turned on, you might need to manually restore it. Check the printer's user manual for instructions on how to do this, or refer to the HP support page for guidance.

Update the Printer Firmware:

  • If you're able to get the printer powered on, check if there's a firmware update available. Keeping the firmware updated can resolve many connectivity issues.
