Hi @TTXXNY

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Got it 👍 — if your HP Tango X won’t power on at all (no lights, no display), here are the steps you can try before assuming it’s a hardware failure:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Power Source

Make sure the wall outlet is working (test it with another device).

Avoid using surge protectors or extension cords — plug directly into the wall.

Inspect Power Adapter & Cable

Confirm you are using the original HP Tango X power adapter (third-party chargers often don’t supply enough power).

Check for damage on the cable and connector pins.

If possible, test with another HP Tango adapter.

Hard Reset (Power Drain)

Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

While unplugged, press and hold the Power button (if present) for 15 seconds.

Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and try again.

Check for Signs of Power

When you plug it back in, do you see any flicker of light or sound (fan, noise, carriage movement)?

If yes → the printer may be stuck in sleep mode or firmware freeze.

In this case, try pressing Power + Wireless button together for 10–15 seconds.

Try Different Outlet / Adapter

If no response at all, the issue is most likely with the power brick or the printer’s internal power board.

If It Still Won’t Power On

If the Tango X shows zero signs of life after trying another power adapter, it usually means a hardware fault (like the power supply board inside the printer).

Unfortunately, HP Tango X is not user-serviceable. You would need to contact HP Phone Support for a replacement adapter or service.

Quick check: Do you have any lights at all when plugging it in, or is it completely dead (like no response whatsoever)?

Take care, and have an amazing day!
