FAR from "Easy Start". I am on Mac Sequoia 15.4.1, Macbook Air M1. I am trying to setup an old printer: HP Officejet 4632
1. Why is there no clue or information of what this **bleep** RED box is?!
2. I found online that it has to do with a ZIP code. Why the **** do I NEED to give you my zipcode? I should have the option to skip!
3. Why can't I type numbers in here?! I tried changing between UK and US keyboard and nothing works.
This is so unnecessarily frustrating. I cannot get past this screen!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I hear your frustration—this setup process should be much smoother. Based on what I see in the HP Easy Start screen, that red box is likely meant for entering a ZIP code, but HP hasn’t labeled it clearly, which is causing confusion.
Possible Fixes
Try Entering Letters Instead of Numbers
- Some users have reported that the field only accepts uppercase letters instead of numbers.
- Try typing four random uppercase letters (e.g., ABCD) and see if it lets you continue.
Switch to a Different Input Method
- If numbers aren’t working, try using macOS’s on-screen keyboard:
- Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard > Enable On-Screen Keyboard.
- Use it to enter the ZIP code.
Skip HP Easy Start & Use macOS Built-in Drivers
- If HP Easy Start is blocking setup, you can add the printer manually:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add Printer, select your HP Officejet 4632, and use AirPrint or Generic PostScript as the driver.
- This bypasses HP Easy Start entirely.
Let me know if any of these work—I want to help you get past this screen!
