I have spoken to HP tech, but still can't get to add printer as suggested. Would uninstalling and reinstalling help?

@DO53, Welcome to HP Support Community. 

 

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you. 

1. Turn on your printer and make sure it is in a ready state.

2. Restore Network Settings:

Press and hold for at least three seconds to restore the network settings to default settings. This will also put the printer back into the Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) setup mode. 

3. Connect to Wi-Fi:

Using WPS: Press the WPS button on your router, then press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light starts blinking. Wait for the connection to establish.

Using HP Smart App: Download the HP Smart app on your device, open it, and follow the prompts to add your printer and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
