I understand you are trying to connect your HP DeskJet 4255e All-in-One Printer to your phone, follow these steps:
 

Ensure Printer and Phone Compatibility: Make sure your phone supports wireless printing and that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Download the HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). This app will help you manage and connect your printer to your phone.

Add Your Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an HP account.
  • Tap on the "+" (plus) sign to add your printer. The app should automatically search for available printers on the network.

Connect via Wi-Fi Direct (if necessary):

  • If the app cannot find your printer, you can connect directly via Wi-Fi Direct.
  • On your printer, navigate to the control panel and enable Wi-Fi Direct. This typically involves going to the settings or wireless menu.
  • Look for the Wi-Fi Direct name (SSID) displayed on the printer and connect your phone to this network.

Print from Your Phone:

  • Once connected, you can print documents and photos directly from your phone using the HP Smart app. Select the document you want to print and choose the print option.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you encounter issues, ensure that both your printer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. You may also want to restart both devices and check for any app updates​
