Welcome to the HP English Community --

Keep in Mind --

If you are not sure about the alignment - that is, whether the document should be printed as "Original Size" or "Fit", test printing the PDF document on plain paper.

What?

Printing on plain paper does NOT prove the printer can handle the heavier card paper -- it might help you decide whether Original or Fit makes a difference.  ?

The most important parts:

----------------------------------------------------------------

1)  Check / Verify Printer supports the paper size / type / weight

Product Specifications for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 All-in-One Printer (1KR67D)

"Business card" paper is generally much heavier than regular paper.

Assuming the printer can manage the paper weight, adjust the Tray and Paper Size / Type.

What?

Double sided business cards might -- or might not -- work.

The extra heavy sheets might go through OK or might slow and stick, stop, twist, or simply refuse.

Single sided Business card sheets, standard size (Letter / A4) might work.,

Load the paper sheets into the printer - about six to ten sheets - print side down, top toward the back of the printer.

Close the tray drawer

----------------------------------------------------------------

2) Tell the printer about your paper

Method 1

Look for a message on the Printer Control Panel - Modify / Adjust the paper size AND type

For example, depending on what's available, select  type"Heavy", " Brochure (matte)", or similar

OR

Method 2

If the printer is on the network,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view and adjust the Tray and Paper settings.

For example, depending on what's available, select  type"Heavy", " Brochure (matte)", or similar

EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

OR

HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

EWS – Tray and Paper Management

Original EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Example - EWS - Tray and Paper

----------------------------------------------------------------

3)  Job Configuration

If not done >> Export your completed Business card document to PDF

Open HP Smart for "Print Documents"

Find and open your saved PDF document

Tap the Print icon

Select Transform > Resize & Move > "Original Size" or, if you know that won't work, "Fit to Page"

Done to close that menu

Swipe the gray bar or arrow "up" to open the Print Options

Select / Edit any settings you want to change > Click Done to exit that menu

When ready, Click Print
