I bought an HP ENVY 6055e based on HP information online that it will run on Mac OS10.15. When I go to 123.hp.com to download software it says I need OS 11 or higher to download software. I even bought a USB cable to simply print thru system preferences...but with no luck. Can anyone help?

Hi @Wilsonbrand, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Your HP ENVY 6055e should be compatible with macOS 10.15 (Catalina)
1. Manually Download HP Printer Drivers for macOS 10.15
- Go to HP’s official driver page:
- HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads
- Enter HP ENVY 6055e as the printer model.
- Change the OS version to macOS 10.15 if needed.
- Download the HP Easy Start software or HP Printer Drivers for macOS 10.15.
2. Add Printer Using macOS Built-in Drivers
Since HP Smart may not support macOS 10.15 anymore, try adding the printer manually:
- Connect the printer via USB or Wi-Fi.
- On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the "+" (Add Printer) button.
- Select your HP ENVY 6055e from the list.
- If macOS suggests AirPrint, choose it and click Add.
- Try printing a test page.
3. Install HP Easy Admin (Alternative Way to Get Drivers)
If HP’s site doesn’t offer drivers for macOS 10.15, you can try HP Easy Admin to download older drivers:
- Download HP Easy Admin from here.
- Open the app and sign in.Search for your printer model and download the necessary drivers.
4. Try Generic Printer Drivers
If nothing works, try installing a generic driver:
- Go to Printers & Scanners on your Mac.
- Click "+" > Add Printer.
- Select the printer and under Use, choose Generic PostScript Printer.
- Click Add and try printing.
Let me know if you need step-by-step help with any of these! 😊
