I bought a printer without the setup ink cartridges

My printer was an open box purchase from Best Buy and does not include the set up ink cartridges. How can I set up my printer? 8135e and I have 923 four pack of ink cartridges and it tells me they don't work for set up

Follow the trade override procedure to initialize the printer with trade cartridges.

1. On the printer control panel, touch  .

1. Open the cartridge access door, and then close the door.

The printer begins initializing.

1. If the initialization does not begin, repeat steps 1 and 2 until the initialization begins.
2. Follow the prompts on the printer control panel to complete initialization. After the printer finishes initializing, load paper into the input tray, and then touch OK.
