HP Color LaserJet CP1215
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I bought a HP Color LaserJet CP1215 for a publishing project some years ago and left it with my partner in the publishing prject for a few years. It works nicely on his PC but he has has since mislaid the installation disk.

He has given it back to me along with numerous unused toner cartridges (expensive!)

The HP/Apple interface when it comes to slightly older printers seems problematic. I can't even find a reference to the HP Color LaserJet CP1215 specifiacally on the HP website. Is it possible to find drivers somewhere?

This is very frustrating!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mark

Hi,

Generlly the CP1215 model is incomaptible with Mac OS X and no drivers are available:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-color-laserjet-cp1210-printer-series/3422474/model/3422475/d...

You may try the following workaround and see if you may get basic print capabilities:

  1. Power on the printer and connect it to your Mac.
  2. Download and install below drives package:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US
  3. Go to Syste Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  4. Click the plus sign and select teh listed CP1215 printer
  5. Within the Use drop down menu click on Select Printer SOftware, search and locate the HP Color LaserJet 2600.
  6. Press Add and try printing using the newly added print queue.
