Hi @Fossy1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can try to help you with that! Installing drivers for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 usually involves a few steps. Here's a general guide:

Using HP Support Website

Visit HP's Official Website:

  • Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter "Officejet Pro 8600" in the search box.

Select Your Operating System:

  • Choose your operating system from the list.
  • Click on "Download" next to the Full Feature Driver (recommended) or the driver package you need.

Install the Driver:

  • Once downloaded, run the installer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Restart your computer if prompted.

Using Device Manager (Advanced)

Open Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X on your keyboard and select "Device Manager".

Find the Printer:

  • Look for your HP Officejet Pro 8600 under "Printers" or "Other devices" in Device Manager.
  • If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to it, right-click and select "Update driver".

Choose Update Method:

  • Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" and let Windows search online.
  • If it finds an updated driver, it will install it.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to your computer via USB or through your network.
  • Sometimes antivirus software or firewall settings can interfere with driver installations. Temporarily disabling them might help.
  • Ensure you have administrative rights on your computer to install drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
