When I get to this stage it won't let me tick the box to be able to complete the installation?
Please help!

Your printer firmware is up to date, and you can upload the same version.

mark, did you find a resolution?  i am having the same issue.  HP Deskjet 2622 won't allow me to select that printer to receive the firmware update.

What is the Status within the Firmware Update Utility?

 

If it is Up-To-Date, that means the latest firmware is already installed.

the HP Support assistant has had a red sign indicating i have updates available.  when i click on it is says i have a firmware update.  i click to install and it identifies my printer to update the firmware but won't allow me to select the printer to actually update it.

And what is the exact status in the shown utility? may you include a screenshot of the screen?

Your printer firmware is already up-to-date and includes this specific version or newer (may be shipped with a newer version too), therefore the update option is grayed out, as it does not apply for your printer.

thanks shlomil.  interesting that i would notify me of an update when there is actually not an update. annoying but i appreciate your responses!
