Let me share the steps to factory reset the printer in private message, because if these steps are tried on a different printer model they may potentially brick the printer.
To access it, click the private message icon in the upper-right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your name.
Take care and have a great day!

Hi @kuzmult,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you have forgotten the EWS password and want to reset the EWS (Embedded Web Server) password and restore factory defaults. On the printer’s touchscreen:
- Tap the Settings (⚙️) icon on the home screen.
- Scroll down and tap Service or Printer Maintenance.
- Select Restore Defaults or Restore Factory Defaults (wording may vary slightly by firmware version).
- Confirm the reset when prompted.
👉 This will:
- Reset all settings, including network configuration and EWS password
- Bring the printer back to its original factory state.
After the Reset:
- Access EWS by entering the printer’s new IP address in your web browser.
- Log in with:
- Username: admin
- Password:(leave blank — or use default if prompted)
Now you can safely set a new admin password in EWS if needed.
For more help, sharing the HP User guide.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
