HP LaserJet 1018 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot change my registered email address. On My Personal Profile page the email field is filled in with my old email address. This address was annulled by my previous email provider. If I use the editing function and replace that old address with my current one I am advised that the address is not available. I should use "my other account". Thing is I have only one account. I was advised by HP staff to set up a new account. I protested as my experience has been in various similar cases in the past that I get prompted by the particular site that I should use other data (name, email address), as the data I use for my new account is already in use. But after making additional efforts in my current HP account I failed to find a way to change my email address, I gave up and started a new account. After I input my first name and surname setting it up, I added my current email address, and I got the message at the screen "Already have an HP account? Sign in".

I'm not sure what the advisable next action should be.

Hi @ottovr,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble changing the registered email address for your HP LaserJet 1018 printer, there are a few steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.

  • Check the printer's control panel: Some printers have a display screen or control panel that allows you to access settings and preferences. Look for an option related to email settings or account management. If available, you may be able to change the registered email address directly from the printer's interface.
  • Software or web-based management: Check if your printer has any software or web-based management tools provided by HP. These tools often offer advanced settings and configuration options that may include changing the registered email address. Look for the printer management software on your computer or visit the HP website for any web-based management options.
  • Reset the printer to factory settings: If you're unable to change the email address through the printer's settings or management tools, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This process may vary depending on the printer model, so consult the printer's user manual or the HP support website for specific instructions. After resetting the printer, you can set it up again with a new email address.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
