@adnanmohd, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

Unfortunately, the HP LaserJet 1020 Plus printer is not officially supported on ARM64-based Windows laptops, including those running Windows 11 on Snapdragon or other ARM processors. HP has not released ARM64-compatible drivers for this legacy printer model.

However, here are a few workarounds and alternative solutions you can try:

Option 1: Use Generic Print Drivers

You can attempt to manually install the printer using a Generic PCL or Basic HP LaserJet driver:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click Add a printer or scanner.
  3. Wait for it to search, then click “The printer I want isn’t listed”.
  4. Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings”.
  5. Select an existing USB port (e.g., USB001).
  6. Choose HP from the manufacturer list and select a Generic PCL driver or HP LaserJet Series driver.

This may allow basic printing functionality, though advanced features may not work.

Option 2: Print via Network from Another PC

If you have access to a Windows x64 (Intel/AMD) PC:

  1. Install the HP LaserJet 1020 Plus driver on that PC from HP official driver page.
  2. Share the printer over the network:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click the printer > Printer Properties > Sharing tab > Enable Share this printer.
  3. On your ARM64 laptop, go to Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer and select the shared printer.

This allows you to print via the network even if the ARM device lacks native driver support.

Option 3: Try HP Universal Print Driver (SUPD) for ARM64

Some users have had partial success using the Samsung/HP Universal Print Driver for ARM64, though results vary:

  • You can try downloading and manually installing the SUPD-V4-ARM64 driver.
  • Note: This may result in incomplete or garbled printouts depending on compatibility.

Additional Notes

Microsoft also acknowledges that some ARM PCs may not support manufacturer installers. They recommend manually adding printers via Windows settings instead of using setup utilities. More info: Microsoft ARM printer support.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
