Hi @HomeWebster,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with your printer offline.

When your HP Envy 5530 printer shows an offline status despite being connected with a cable, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check Cable Connections:

  • Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Try using a different USB cable and port to rule out any issues with the cable or port.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Restart your computer as well.

Set Printer Online:

  • On your computer, go to "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel.
  • Right-click on your HP Envy 5530 printer and select "See what's printing".
  • In the new window, click on "Printer" in the menu bar and uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if it is checked.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP Envy 5530.
  • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer.
  • Reinstall the downloaded drivers and follow the installation instructions.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is set as the default printer. Go to "Devices and Printers", right-click on the HP Envy 5530, and select "Set as default printer".

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Kindly check the next steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @HomeWebster,

Please find the next steps below.

Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to "Print Spooler", right-click on it, and select "Restart".

Run the Printer Troubleshooter:

  • On your computer, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select "Printer" and then click on "Run the troubleshooter".

Check Printer Queue:

  • Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to appear offline. Clear any pending print jobs.
  • Go to "Devices and Printers", right-click on the HP Envy 5530, select "See what's printing", and cancel any stuck print jobs.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

You may also refer to this document for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the offline status of your HP Envy 5530 printer. If the issue persists, there might be a deeper hardware problem, and you may need to contact HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
