The error message indicates that the installation of the HP printer driver for the M402dn encountered an issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve this:

 

Restart Your Computer:

  • Restart your PC and try running the installer again.

Run the Installer as Administrator:

  • Right-click the installer file and select "Run as administrator" to avoid permission-related issues.

Check Compatibility:

  • Ensure the driver you downloaded matches your Windows version (e.g., Windows 10/11, 32-bit or 64-bit). 

Check for Existing HP Drivers:

  • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, uninstall any previous HP printer drivers, then restart and try installing again.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. It can detect and fix driver installation issues.
