@steve677,

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!

  • Are you entering the password from the printer's front panel or from the computer?

The password characters are case sensitive, please make sure that you follow the same case as the actual password.

Try entering the password using the same case and check if that works.

If you still have the same issue, perform a network reset.

  • On the Printer, control Panel touch the Wireless icon.
  • Touch settings.
  • Restore Network Defaults

Once the defaults are restored, restart the printer and try to connect the printer to the network again.

There are other ways to connect the printer to the Wireless Network. Here is a couple of them.

Method 1: Using WPS Push Button method.

If you have a WPS enabled router, you can connect the printer to the Wireless without entering the password

  • On the Printer, control Panel touch the Wireless icon.
  • Touch settings.
  • Go to WiFi Protected Set Up
  • Select Push Button
  • Select Start
  • When you see a timer counting down. press and hold the WPS button on your WiFi router for 3-5 seconds and release the button.
  • After a few seconds, the printer should get connected to the WiFi(Check the Wireless Light status, it should be solid blue)

Method 2: Using a USB cable

If you have a printer USB cable connected between the Printer and the PC, you can transfer the network settings from the PC to the printer.

Make sure that the PC is connected to the correct WiFi network

Follow the steps from this link.
