@84278, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The "Unsupported Personality: PCLXL" error occurs when attempting to use PCLXL printing, which is unsupported by HP LaserJet 1010 printers. These printers are host-based and do not support PCL printing. Here's how you can resolve this issue:

Install the Correct Driver:

  • You need to install the HP LaserJet Host-Based Printer Driver or the HP LaserJet printing system software specifically designed for your printer model.
  • These drivers can be downloaded from the official HP website. You can visit HP's drivers and downloads page to find the appropriate drivers for your printer model.

Consider Software Compatibility:

  • Note that certain programs, such as accounting or invoicing applications that are 16-bit programs with a 32-bit (Windows) overlay, might still cause errors even with the correct drivers. These applications might not support host-based printers, and thus may not work properly in these environments.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
