Hi @bettyshelton,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Color LaserJet Pro M454dn is showing a blinking green circle and a blinking orange triangle. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the printer display for any message
Even if the icons are blinking, the touchscreen usually shows a short error description.
Look for messages about paper jam, tray issues, toner, or door open.

Verify all doors are fully closed
Open and firmly close the front toner door, the rear door, and the main paper tray.
A partially latched door will trigger the orange attention light.

Inspect for paper jams in all areas
Remove Tray 2 and check deep inside for torn paper.
Open the rear fuser door and gently check the rollers for stuck pieces.

Check the toner cartridges and imaging components
Pull out the toner tray and re-seat all cartridges.
Make sure no orange protective cover, sealing tape, or packing material is left behind.

Confirm the correct paper type is loaded
If the printer thinks the wrong type or size is loaded, it will blink the attention light.
On the touchscreen, set the tray size/type to match the actual paper.

Look for supply issues
If any toner cartridge reports “Low” or “Cannot Authenticate,” the printer may pause with blinking lights.
Re-seat the affected cartridge or try another one if available.

Restart the printer
Turn it off, unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet, and turn it back on.
Watch the screen closely during startup for any warnings.

Check network/job errors
The blinking green light can mean the printer is receiving a job, but the orange attention light means it can’t continue.
Cancel all pending print jobs from your PC and the printer’s Job Queue.

I hope this helps.
