I have a HP Envy 5530.  I can not set it up because it is stuck trying to print an alignment page.  It's just spinning with a blue circle.  I can hit the red X and then it just says canceling and continues spinning the blue circle. I can't stop that without shutting down the printer.

The error code C4EBA341 on your HP Envy 5530 printer, combined with it being stuck in an endless loop trying to print an alignment page, indicates a firmware issue or an internal printer error. Here's a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

 

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on.
  2. Unplug from Power Source: Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.
  5. Turn on the Printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer.

2. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  1. Open the Printer: Check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
  2. Clear Paper Path: Make sure there is no debris or small pieces of paper blocking the paper path.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Connect the Printer to a Computer: Ensure the printer is connected to a computer with internet access.
  2. Visit HP Support: Go to the HP Support website.
  3. Search for Your Printer: Enter "HP Envy 5530" in the search bar and go to the printer's support page.
  4. Download Firmware Update: If a firmware update is available, download and install it by following the on-screen instructions. If you do not find the firmware for your current OS, try HP Easy Start.

4. Reset to Factory Defaults

  1. Open the Printer's Control Panel: Access the printer's settings via the control panel.

5. Bypass Alignment Page

If the printer is still stuck trying to print an alignment page, you may need to bypass it temporarily:

  1. Turn off the Printer: Turn off the printer and turn it back on.
  2. Skip Alignment: When prompted to print an alignment page, press the red X button to cancel.
  3. Print a Document: Try printing a test document from your computer to see if the issue persists.

6. Reinstall Printer Software

  1. Uninstall Current Software: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall the HP printer software.
  2. Download Latest Software: Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for the HP Envy 5530.
  3. Install Software: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software and set up the printer again.
