Hi @Billy1973a,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Installing the correct drivers and software for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw on your Windows 11 Pro laptop is important for full functionality. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the Correct Drivers

  1. Go to the HP Official Website.
  2. In the search bar, enter LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw and select your printer model.
  3. Under Driver-Product Installation Software, download the HP Smart app or the Full Feature Software and Driver package for Windows 11.
  4. Avoid third-party websites to prevent downloading incorrect or unsafe software.

Step 2: Install the Software

  1. Run the downloaded driver installation file.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
  3. When prompted, connect your printer via USB or Wi-Fi, depending on your preference.

Step 3: Verify Printer Connection

  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure your printer and laptop are on the same network.
  • If using USB, connect the cable properly, and Windows should automatically detect the printer.

Step 4: Set the Printer as Default

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your HP printer and click Set as default.

Step 5: Test the Printer

  • Print a test page by going to Printer Properties > Print Test Page.
  • If scanning is needed, install the HP Scan software from the HP website.

If you face any issues, try restarting your printer and laptop or use HP Print and Scan Doctor (available on the HP support page) to troubleshoot.

Let me know if you need further assistance! 😊

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
