My web connection is perfect all bars. I just cannot connect to the EWS. I have gone in manually and it tells me I need an update. I acknowledge to do that. Nothing happens. HP a few weeks ago confirmed I was all good. Cannot understand what is happening?

HI @JOHN195667,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble accessing the Embedded Web Server (EWS) of your HP Envy 5530 printer while connected to Wi-Fi, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Restart Printer and Router: Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Also, restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. Once both devices have restarted, try accessing the EWS again.
Check Wi-Fi Connection: Even though your Wi-Fi signal strength is strong, there may be other issues affecting the connection. Make sure you're connected to the correct Wi-Fi network on your computer or mobile device, and try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network if available.
Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, browser cache or cookies can interfere with accessing the EWS. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try accessing the EWS again.
Use Different Web Browser or Device: Try accessing the EWS using a different web browser or device (computer, smartphone, or tablet). This can help determine if the issue is specific to one browser or device.
Reset Printer Network Settings: On your printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings and perform a network reset. This will clear any network settings and reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or by downloading and installing it from the HP website.
Disable Firewall or Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer that may be blocking access to the printer's EWS.
Factory Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can perform a factory reset on your printer to restore it to its original settings. Note that this will erase all custom settings, so proceed with caution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @JOHN195667,
Thank you for your response.
To perform a factory reset on an HP Envy 5530 printer, follow these steps:
- Power On the Printer: Ensure that your HP Envy 5530 printer is turned on.
- Access the Home Screen: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the home screen.
- Open Settings Menu:
- Touch the "Settings" icon on the control panel screen. This icon typically looks like a gear or wrench.
- Find Printer Maintenance:
- Navigate through the settings menu and look for "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools." Select this option.
- Restore Defaults:
- In the "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools" menu, look for an option called "Restore Factory Defaults" or similar. Select this option.
- Confirm Reset:
- Confirm that you want to restore the printer to factory settings. The printer will then proceed with the reset process.
- Restart the Printer:
- After the reset process is complete, the printer may automatically restart. If it does not, turn the printer off and then back on manually.
- Reconfigure the Printer:
- Once the printer restarts, you will need to reconfigure the printer settings, such as language, date and time, and network settings.
These steps should help you perform a factory reset on your HP printer

@Rachel571, Thank you for all your help. There is no help. Apparently you pay your monthly ink charges for 10 years and your machine is still in working order but HP thinks it's outlived it's life so shuts it off. That's what I was told today after a technician came on my computer and tried what I have tried for days, with your help and other website ideas. The short story is they are forcing me to buy another newer printer to keep on the instant ink program. And get this when I cancelled my contract there also going to charge me for a month I haven't been able to use the thing! I'm going out to buy a Cannon!
Thanks Rachel571
