HP Photosmart D7160
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a brand new unopened HP Photosmart 7160.  I was going through the setup process. I got a screen saying "Ink System Failure" . I've done repeated power resets and tried a new set of cartridges .  It's displaying a code 0xc18a1e02. I've tried a new set of cartridges. No change. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

The D7160 model was released in 2006, 15 years ago, so although this is out of the box, brand new would not be accurate.

After such a long time of storage there are many possible causes, you may try replacing the ink cartridges and see if that helps, although I doubt it will, it most likely requires servicing the printer if possible, so please consider that before trying anything, so you won't find yourself spend some money on a non-operational printer...

That's a great idea. Where would I get such a servicing done?
