I have set up a new HP printer via USB, Test sheet printed fine but wont print labels

I have set up my new HP printer & test sheet printed fine, but when I try to print eBay labels nothing happens!
I have since tried printing an email to see if that might work but again, nothing
Just tried restart of spool, still no joy

Since your HP printer is connected via USB and can print a test page, that confirms the connection and basic functionality are working. If it's not printing eBay labels or emails, the issue likely lies in the print settings, software, or data format. Here's how to troubleshoot step by step:

Check Default Printer

• Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
• Make sure your new HP printer is set as default (green checkmark).

Restart Print Spooler Properly

1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
2. Find Print Spooler, right-click, and click Restart.
3. Then clear the print queue:

• Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
• Delete all files inside this folder.

Reinstall Printer Driver

• Go to HP support site and search for your printer model.
• Download and install the latest full driver/software package, not just the basic driver.
• Uninstall the existing printer from Devices and Printers before reinstalling.

Check eBay Label Settings

Make sure you're not trying to print a PDF in a browser viewer. Try:

• Download the label PDF first, then open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader, and print from there.

In the Print dialog, make sure:

• Correct paper size is selected (e.g., A4 or 4x6 if using label stock).
• Fit to page or Actual size is selected based on your label format.
• The right printer is selected.

Try Printing from Other Programs

• Open a Word file or Notepad and try printing that.
• If this fails too, it confirms a system-wide issue, not just eBay or email-specific.

USB Port & Cable Check

• Try a different USB port.
• Use a different USB cable if available.

Disable Background Print Features

• Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click your HP printer > Printer Properties > Advanced Tab
• Uncheck "Enable advanced printing features"
