I have the Envy Photo 7858 printer and am running Windows 11 on my desktop. I have taken a passport photo, but I can't get my printer to print the right size, 2x2. I resized my photo in an image editor to 2" x 2". For printer settings, I used: photo tray, 4x6, and shrink to fit. It came out 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Does anyone have any explanation or solution for me?

Welcome to the HP Community --

Your image editor software can perhaps change the pixel dimensions of your original photo.  This is sometimes useful though only when used with a print software that understands how to manage the results to give you want you want.

You can print your original photo at the size you want using a program that understands Scale and Custom Print Size.  The software must be able to print the image to that Scale or exact size.

HP Smart (Windows) can print certain pre-selected sizes on larger paper. 

HP Smart is not a "Custom Print Size" application.

What to do?

If not done, Install the Full Driver printer software for the printer.

NOTE >>

If you need additional help to install the full driver, ask.

Next,

Use a software program that understands how to print your photo file as a Custom Size of your choosing.

NOTE >> 

The Custom Size print example provided (later) in this message is from Irfanview 

Irfanview is a personal favorite -- you should use what you like.

Most software of this type does require that you first install the full driver printer software.
