HP ENVY 4502 e-All-in-One Printer

I just bought a new HP DeskJet 2852e printer.  It says to remove the old printer app, and the driver.  I was able to remove the printer, but how do you remove the driver.  Old printer is HP ENVY 4502 e-/All-In-One

@Gerry4646, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Great to hear you’ve got the new HP DeskJet 2852e! Since you've already removed the old printer from your system, the next step is to remove the old HP ENVY 4502 driver to ensure a clean installation of your new printer.

Here's how to remove the old printer driver on Windows:

Step 1: Open Print Server Properties

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type printui.exe /s and press Enter.
  3. In the Print Server Properties window, go to the Drivers tab.

Step 2: Remove the Old Driver

  1. Look for HP ENVY 4500 series or similar in the list.
  2. Select it and click Remove.
  3. Choose "Remove driver and driver package" when prompted.
  4. Click OK and close the window.

Step 3: Restart Your Computer

This ensures all driver files are fully removed from memory.

Now you can install your new HP DeskJet 2852e

For the best experience, use the HP Smart app to set up your new printer:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
