I just purchased and installed my new HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One Printer.
I used the HP Smart App, and the installation was successful. However, My PaperPort app does not see or list the HP Smart Tank 7602’s Scanner. Also, I uninstalled my old printer, but it is still listed in the HP Smart App.
Can You assist with either of these two issues?

Hi @BakerJC,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let's address each of your issues with the HP Smart Tank 7602 printer:
Issue 1: PaperPort App Not Detecting HP Smart Tank 7602 Scanner
If your PaperPort app is not detecting or listing the scanner of your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer, follow these steps:
Check Scanner Connectivity:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer and turned on.
- Verify that the printer's scanner function is working by testing it with other applications or by scanning directly from the printer's control panel.
Update Scanner Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest scanner drivers installed on your computer.
- Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest full feature software package. Install it on your computer to update the scanner drivers.
Configure PaperPort Settings:
- Open the PaperPort application on your computer.
- Go to the settings or options menu within PaperPort.
- Look for an option to refresh or update scanner devices. This might be under a "Devices" or "Scanner" tab.
- Click on "Refresh" or "Update" to let PaperPort detect the newly installed HP Smart Tank 7602 scanner.
Restart PaperPort and Computer:
- Sometimes, restarting both PaperPort and your computer can resolve detection issues.
- Close PaperPort completely and then reopen it after restarting your computer.
Check Compatibility:
- Ensure that the PaperPort version you are using is compatible with your operating system and the HP Smart Tank 7602 printer.
- Refer to PaperPort's documentation or support resources for any specific compatibility updates or settings.
Issue 2: Uninstalled Printer Still Listed in HP Smart App
If your old printer is still listed in the HP Smart App after uninstalling it, follow these steps to remove it:
Remove Old Printer from HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device.
- Look for the old printer in the list of connected devices or printers.
- Click on the old printer and look for an option to remove or forget the device.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the old printer from the HP Smart App.
Restart HP Smart App:
- After removing the old printer, close the HP Smart App completely.
- Reopen the HP Smart App and check if the old printer is still listed. It should no longer appear.
Clear App Cache (if applicable):
- On mobile devices, you can try clearing the cache of the HP Smart App.
- Go to your device’s settings, find the HP Smart App, and clear its cache.
- Restart the HP Smart App and check if the old printer is still listed.
Update HP Smart App (if applicable):
- Make sure you are using the latest version of the HP Smart App.
- Check for updates in your device’s app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) and install any available updates for the HP Smart App.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
