Dell Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm having problems with my OfficeJet 3830 printer... using my Dell Laptop.

The network detects my printer fine, but I get this "Unsuccessful Network Installation" error whenever I try to install it... I tried following the steps listed here... https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05032099

I completed step 3 "Microsoft System File Checker (SFC)" and got this message "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log."

I have the log file, but I can't upload it here, since there's no way to attach a file.

Also, In step 4, my windows 10 laptop won't let me run that file... it's gets block by Window's Virus & Protection software.

Please help.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Appreciate all your time and efforts, we are in the right track.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-3830-all-in-one-printer-seri... to download and install Full Feature Software and Drivers

I try to install the printer with the cd today... but I got this message:

Installation Error:

Error #5: Failed to add port monitor / HP Discovery Port Monitor.

Any clue on why this is?
