Office Jet Pro 8034e

I lost SETUP CARTRIDGES for my Office Jet Pro 8034e

I bought replacements (instank ink), installed them and the screen is stuck on Use SETUP cartridges. How do I bypass this screen?

Hi @hhhhhalkjwel2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e is asking for setup cartridges even after you've installed replacement cartridges, it's likely that the printer is not recognizing the new cartridges correctly. Here's what you can try to bypass this issue.

Verify Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the replacement cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reinstall them, making sure they click into place securely.

Check for Compatibility: Confirm that the replacement cartridges are compatible with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e. Sometimes, third-party or remanufactured cartridges might not be recognized by the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear errors and reset the printer's settings.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve cartridge recognition issues. You can usually do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.

Reset Printer Settings: Perform a factory reset on the printer. This option is usually found in the printer's settings menu. Note that this will reset all your settings, so you'll need to set up the printer again from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
