I lost my printer driver disc for my oder photosmart 8450...how can i obtain a copy

Looking for a copy of yhe original download driver disc for my Hp Photosmart 8450. I am trying to gove the printer and a laptop to my nephew who is job hunting, my email/ add i >Do not include the product serial number or any private information<   my message box is>Do not include the product serial number or any private information< ,, I am desperate..Hp is unable to help with the 20 year old priner

Thanks a bunch FerRx. I downloaded it to my desktop. I will forward it to my nephew who has the laptop and 8450 printer and ask him to open and download on the Laptop hooked up to the Photosmart Printer.. Hopefully I am doing this correctly.  The software supposedly will up load to either a win 10 or 11...i will pick the WIN 10 since I am not sure...

I downloaded the provided software for the Photosmart 8450.  Afterci uploaded ino the laptop, attached to the printer.  Could not get the printer to open and launch correctly and all of the MS 365 software that I loaded a few days earlier stopped working.  At some point the pc/printer started identifying the download software belonging to a 8500 series printer.  We can't get any of the hp help software to accept the SN thst we enter for the Photosmart 8450 printer...we are dead in the water...the installed file, that ibdownloaded to a DVD disc is identified as a  Photosmart _B_8450_win10_win 11.  121,409 kb file size.  After I downloaded it to the laptop it identified itself as a 8500 series printer.....we are  dead in the water....

1. Ok, if that doesn't work 🤔,

then try to install the next driver:

>> https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software3/COL8097/ps-22702-1/hp_72_enu_net.exe

2.  Restart your computer and connect USB cable to check if that make the pc to identify the printer.

3. Then open your Notepad and write some text to send to print,

    just as a basic test for printer.

* Click YES   to say thank you, 

* Click Accepted as Solution when question is answered.

FerRx, Thanks so much for all of your help.  Weird things happened when I uploaded the last software. First of all, my recently installed MS 365 software all stopped working.  The laptop said the software was for 8500 series laptop,  The printer would not upload and run...I found out yesterday that the Dell laptop was only operating a  WIN  7 . I am bring eveything back over to my house to start over.  When trying to upload the Photosmart 8450 the system was not accepting our serial numbers, which was weird.  I will give it one more USMC try...hoo rah and thanks again....Floyd

FerRx, I forgot the most important question, on paper will the original software, or even the second one that you sent,   actually work  an a Dell laptop with a WIN 7 system???

Hi FerRx,  Recapping what has happened before I uploaded the Printer Software that you sent me, last time, i had also uploade MS365 software and a PCHelpSoft package.  After I tried to download the  PhotoSmart 8450 software everything seemed to crash. I could not get the Printer to talk to the software, Something in hp was saying the software was for an 8500 series printer ( not an 8450).  Anyway i Removed the old 8450 software, all of the MS365 software and the PCHelp software.  I have the laptop and printer back at my house. In checking the laptop it tells me that it is running Win 10. Hopefully that is compatible with the software that you sent me yesterday(

Howdy FerRx, I reloaded the software that you sent me yesterday. It said that the software was for an OS 602 and supports only Win 98, windows ME, Windows 2000, and Win XP,  apparently not Win10. Would i be crazy re-trying the download that you sent on 2/19  or do you have a better suggestion
